Dear Lee Wildcat Families,
Welcome to the 20-21 school year! My name is Shelley Friery, and I feel privileged to continue to be part of this wonderful community of scholars, and I could not be more excited about continuing to lead Lee Middle School.
This year will definitely look different from those in the past, but the staff and I are looking forward to meeting the challenges that this pandemic has brought us in order to bring you and your student an outstanding educational experience.
Our school focus includes creating a positive, safe, and secure learning environment where students can grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally. Our staff and students recognize the Wildcat Way Fundamentals of Respect, Involvement, Self-Direction, and Self-Control and reinforce these attributes throughout the school year. The Lee Middle School staff believes that school connectedness and having students embrace being a Wildcat family is critical to building a supportive and trusting school culture. We ask that you encourage your student to participate in the great programs the school offers.
Our success this year will be dependent on our ability to come together as a community and commit to the success of every child, regardless of whether instruction is delivered remotely or in person. Our staff will be focused on building RELATIONSHIPS with our students and families, providing RIGOROUS AND ENGAGING INSTRUCTION in all classroom environments, and ENSURING A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT where students feel a sense of belonging and connection. With these three areas in the forefront of everything we do, we hope to make every classroom a place where students feel loved, supported, and successful.
This year will definitely come with its challenges, but through our strength, commitment and determination, we will make this a great year for our scholars!
Ms. Shelley Friery, Principal
